Lettlandinfos in deutscher, lettischer und englischer Sprache

Lettland/Kurland verändert sich! Die Pandemie und der russische Überfall auf ein quasi Nachbarland Lettlands haben ihre Spuren hinterlassen.  Die Preise explodieren und die lettischen Geringverdiener, was wohl die meisten Letten sind, bekommen langsam Existenzangst! Wie soll das weitergehen, fragen sich besonders die älteren Menschen im Baltikum?

Die Sandstrände in der Bucht von Riga und der Ostsee sind nach wie vor nicht überfüllt, aber es sind mehr einheimische anzutreffen und Badegäste aus dem Baltikum. Der Lette, wie alle Balten, fahren nicht mehr so groß ins Ausland um Urlaub zu machen, aber auch die Deutschen, Engländer usw. kann man an der Küste zählen. Das war aber in den letzten zwei Jahren auch schon der Fall. Ach ja, auch russisch hört man immer seltener. Russisch sprachige Letten, wenn sie kein lettisch können, halten angesichts des russischen Überfalls auf die Ukraine lieber den Mund, zumindest die intelligenten.

Lettland, das Baltikum ein billiges Urlaubsland? Vielleicht billiger als, aber billig ist hier schon länger nichts mehr und die nächste Steigerung der Preise ist schon angekündigt. Selbst die Preise für Bananen steigen langsam mit 2,59 Pro Kilo – für lettische Normalverdiener – ins unbezahlbare.  

Lettland ist nicht etwa teurer, sondern teuer geworden. Man spürt es zuerst an den Übernachtungskosten, dann an den Spritpreisen und das Kilo Käse im lettischen Supermarkt kostet mehr als die gleiche Portion in Deutschland – teilweise deutlich! Lettland punkt aber nach wie vor mit seiner unnachahmlichen landschaftlichen Schönheit und seiner heilen und noch funktionierenden Natur. Wie lange dies jedoch ausreicht, um die, z.B. deutschen, Touristen ins Land zu holen, bleibt einmal abzuwarten! Wenn das Wetter im Baltikum, wie derzeit, Kapriolen macht, könnte 2023 so manches deutsches Reisemobil Richtung Italien und Spanien rollen, und nicht ins Baltikum. Da wird man sich wohl etwas in den Fremdenverkehrszentralen in Riga, Tallinn oder Vilnius einfallen müssen.

Latvija: Valsts mainās! Pandēmija un Krievijas iebrukums Ukrainā ir atstājuši savas pēdas. Cenas strauji aug, un Latvijas maznodrošinātie iedzīvotāji, kas, iespējams, veido lielāko daļu Latvijas iedzīvotāju, sāk baidīties par savu iztiku! Kā tas turpināsies, īpaši Baltijas valstīs jautā vecāka gadagājuma cilvēki?

Rīgas jūras līča un Baltijas jūras smilšainās pludmales vēl nav pārpildītas, bet ir vairāk vietējo iedzīvotāju un vairāk peldētāju no Baltijas valstīm. Latvieši, tāpat kā visi baltieši, vairs nebrauc uz ārzemēm atpūsties tik lielā skaitā, bet piekrastē var saskaitīt arī vāciešus, angļus un citus. Taču tas jau ir noticis pēdējo divu gadu laikā. Ak, jā, jūs arī arvien mazāk dzirdat krievu valodu. Krieviski runājošiem latviešiem, ja vien viņi neprot latviešu valodu, būtu labāk turēt muti ciet, ņemot vērā Krievijas iebrukumu Ukrainā, vismaz inteliģentajiem no viņiem.

Latvija, Baltijas valstis - lēts brīvdienu galamērķis? Varbūt pat lētāk nekā citur! Taču šeit jau ilgu laiku nekas nav bijis lēts, un nākamais cenu kāpums jau ir paziņots. Pat banānu cena pieaug līdz 2,59 eiro par kilogramu, kas vidējam latvietim ir nepieejami dārgi.  

Latvija nav kļuvusi dārgāka, bet gan dārgāka. Vispirms to var pamanīt naktsmītņu cenā, tad benzīna cenā, un kilograms siera Latvijas lielveikalā maksā dārgāk nekā tāda pati porcija Vācijā - dažkārt pat ievērojami dārgāk!

Tomēr Latvija joprojām izceļas ar savu unikālo ainavisko skaistumu un neskarto un joprojām funkcionējošo dabu. Tomēr vēl nav zināms, cik ilgi tas būs pietiekami, lai piesaistītu šai valstij tūristus, piemēram, vāciešus! Ja laikapstākļi Baltijas valstīs kļūs tikpat kaprīzi kā pašlaik, daudzi Vācijas treileri 2023. gadā varētu doties uz Itāliju un Spāniju, nevis Baltijas valstīm. Rīgas, Tallinas vai Viļņas tūrisma birojiem būs kaut kas jāizdomā.

Latvia/Kurland is changing! The pandemic and the Russian invasion of a quasi-neighbouring country of Latvia have left their mark. Prices are skyrocketing and Latvian low-income earners, which is probably the majority of Latvians, are beginning to fear for their livelihoods! How is this going to continue, especially the elderly in the Baltic States are asking themselves?

The sandy beaches in the Bay of Riga and the Baltic Sea are still not overcrowded, but there are more local people and bathers from the Baltic States. The Latvians, like all the Balts, no longer go abroad so much for their holidays, but you can also count Germans, Englishmen etc. on the coast. But that was already the case in the last two years. Oh yes, you also hear Russian less and less. Russian-speaking Latvians, if they don't know Latvian, prefer to keep their mouths shut in view of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, at least the intelligent ones.

Latvia, the Baltic States a cheap holiday destination? Maybe cheaper than, but nothing has been cheap here for a long time and the next increase in prices has already been announced. Even the price of bananas is slowly rising to 2.59 per kilo - unaffordable for Latvian average earners.  

Latvia has not become more expensive, but more expensive. You can feel it first in the cost of accommodation, then in the price of petrol, and a kilo of cheese in the Latvian supermarket costs more than the same portion in Germany - sometimes considerably more! Latvia, however, still scores with its inimitable scenic beauty and its intact and still functioning nature. It remains to be seen, however, how long this will be enough to attract tourists, e.g. Germans, to the country! If the weather in the Baltic States turns capricious, as it is at present, many a German motorhome could be heading for Italy and Spain in 2023, and not for the Baltic States. The tourist offices in Riga, Tallinn or Vilnius will have to come up with something.
